100 MAC Wins!!

Congratulations to Coach Miller and his Coaching Staff!!!
The Falcon's 83-71 win over Eastern Michigan on Saturday was the 100th MAC victory in Coach Miller's career. Coach Miller now has a career record of 100-34 in conference games. Coach Miller, who holds the school records for overall and MAC wins, became just the seventh coach in MAC history--and second fastest--to amass 100 league victories!! Congrats on an amazing conference run!

"It's a credit to players and my assistant coaches, who have helped bring these great players to the program," said Miller, regarding his triple-digit MAC win total covering nine seasons. "It's not just my 100th win. It's my staff's 100th win, because they've been here the whole time with me. Not very many staffs can say that, and that's been a huge part of our success."

Coach Reached 100 wins in...
Mark Ehlen (Toledo) 123rd career game
CURT MILLER 134th
Fran Voll (BGSU) 143rd

Congratulations Coach Miller (and coaching staff!)

Coach Miller has won 5 consecutive MAC Titles

Head Coach Curt Miller
Congratulations to Coach Miller and his coaching staff!! With last night's MAC opening win over Akron, Coach Miller and his staff won their 190th game. Coach Miller became the winningest coach in Falcon history two seasons ago, but this win moved him past former BGSU and Central Michigan coach Fram Voll into third place on the Mid-American Conference wins list!
Coach Miller now trails only Bob Lindsay (Kent State) and Mark Ehlen (former Toledo coach) on the conference chart.
"Fran Voll was such an amzing coach and I know what he meant not only to BGSU Women's Basketball, but to MAC basketball. It's such an honor to be mentioned amongst some of the elite coaches in the MAC."

Team at Thanksgiving Dinner

Hello Falcon Fans!

Sorry we haven't blogged recently...the season started and we were all consumed with practices, games, recruiting, scouting...oh, and traveling to NINE road games in November and December!! We have completed non-conference with a 10-4 record, including a huge win over #14 ranked Vanderbilt on their home floor! We also met one of our major goals which is to be undefeated at Anderson in the non-conference.

We enter MAC play this week with a home game versus Akron on Wednesday, then we travel down to Athens to play Ohio U on Saturday. This is what we have been working towards and know that our tough road schedule has us prepared to defend our fifth MAC title.

Here's an update on what the Falcons have been up to besides games:
1. The Falcons had a great Thanksgiving meal together. We all stuffed ourselves before running it all off in an evening practice. Although we couldn't be with our own families, anyone in the basketball world knows that Thanksgiving is a great day to spend with your basketball "family."

2. The team has also been busy in the classroom. The Falcons finished the semester strong...14 of our players had over a 3.25 for the fall semester. Congrats to everyone!

3. After wrapping up non-conference, the team had their annual Christmas party! We have all had a "Secret Santa" since the beginning of December. There have been some interesting surprise gifts left for everyone, but all was revealed on Sunday night as we all exchanged gifts. Coach Miller received his annual supply of de-icer, while Tracy went home with a great set of Tupperware! The gift games get competitive, as you may suspect! We ended the night with a huge steak dinner and sundae bar!

The team has one more week before classes begin. They are enjoying their free time on campus and having nothing to concentrate on besides basketball. They have many team meals together and shopping excursions. :)

I hope everyone can make it out on Wednesday night as we open the MAC season against a very tough Akron team. The Race for Seis begins this week!!

We hope everyone had a safe and happy Holiday season!!

Go Falcons!!
